Responsibilities
Role Overview
Redpath is seeking Underground Nippers to support mining operations at the Federation Mine. This role is suited to individuals looking to build or further develop a career in underground mining within a structured and safety-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Jumbo Operators and Charge-Up crews with development activities
- Conduct service runs delivering materials, explosives, and consumables to headings
- Set up and maintain services including ventilation, water, and air lines
- Bogging and clean-up duties as required
- Install and remove ground support materials under supervision
- Perform pre-start checks on vehicles and equipment
- Maintain housekeeping standards across work areas
- Complete shift reports and safety documentation
- Identify and report hazards, incidents, and near misses
Qualifications
About You
- Previous underground mining experience preferred (entry-level considered depending on site requirements)
- Strong willingness to learn and develop within underground operations
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
- Valid manual driver’s licence
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong commitment to safety and following procedures
- Ability to work rotating rosters (2/2, days and nights)
