    Job description

    Responsibilities

    • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in all assigned areas, including hallways, stairwells, offices, and common spaces.
    • Clean and disinfect restrooms, ensuring supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper) are adequately stocked.
    • Wipe down surfaces, including desks, countertops, windows, and mirrors.
    • Empty trash and recycling bins, replacing liners as needed.
    • Remove and dispose of waste according to facility guidelines.
    • Monitor and report any maintenance issues such as leaks, broken equipment, or facility damage.
    • Perform basic repair tasks such as replacing light bulbs and minor fixture repairs.
    • Ensure cleaning equipment and tools are properly maintained and stored after use.
    • Follow proper cleaning protocols to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
    • Use appropriate cleaning products, equipment, and protective gear.
    • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, reporting any hazards to supervisors.
    • Assist with deep cleaning tasks, such as carpet cleaning, floor waxing, and window washing.
    • Support special event setup and breakdown, including moving furniture or equipment.
    • Participate in seasonal cleaning tasks as required (e.g., snow removal from entrances).

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED preferred.
    • Prior experience in janitorial or custodial work is beneficial but not required.
    • Ability to operate cleaning equipment, such as floor buffers and vacuums.
    • Basic knowledge of cleaning supplies and safety practices.
    • Good physical stamina and ability to lift/move objects up to 50 lbs.
    • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
    • Excellent communication skills to interact with staff, supervisors, and facility occupants.
    • Ability to follow instructions and maintain a positive, professional attitude
