Ship Operator

Thenamaris ConBulk invites high caliber professionals with the requested qualifications, to apply for the position of Ship Operator in the Operations Department.

The Ship Operator is responsible to follow-up and closely monitor the performance of the vessel so as to ensure the optimal completion of its voyage, and coordinate effectively all communication required between the company’s departments, the vessel and any other party involved in the transportation process. Especially in all communication with the vessel, the individual is expected to have the capacity to respond to the needs of the crew on all significant decision-making stages and to efficiently manage any issue arising through the charter party execution that may have an impact on either contractual or commercial performance.

The position is permanent and is based in Athens (Vouliagmeni), Greece.

To be considered for this role, you should meet the below requirements:

• Sailing experience of at least 2 years as Chief Officer on board dry vessels ideally combined with experience in a vessel operations role ashore
• Sailing experience as Master on board dry vessels is a strong asset
• Postgraduate studies in the areas of Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Shipping or Economics will be considered an asset
• Ability to communicate effectively both with the crew and the office
• Strong organization and coordination skills
• Commercial acumen and negotiation skills are important attributes
• Excellent use of Microsoft Office suite
• Proficiency in English at an oral and written level
