    Job description

    This position supervises an onshore crew and/or other assigned personnel and performs a variety of operational and technical job duties, including operations, maintenance, and measurement, to ensure personnel are working effectively and cohesively and that equipment and systems are operating efficiently in accordance with safety and service requirements. Position may work at multiple locations depending on asset and assignment.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Supervise, train, coach, and discipline assigned personnel.
    • Lead by example and promote best practices for the productive, safe operation of assigned asset(s) in accordance with company and industry standards.
    • Oversee daily operations and crew responsibilities.

    Operations, Maintenance, and Technical Support

    • Perform maintenance and repair work on pipelines, compressor stations, and related equipment.
    • Perform maintenance, repair, calibration, and troubleshooting of electrical and pneumatic equipment and PLC-based safety systems.
    • Perform operator and technician services as directed and in accordance with specific project work plans and operating procedures.
    • Perform general upkeep and maintenance tasks, safety checks, and inspections of assigned facilities and equipment, including compressors, valves, actuators, pig traps, pumps, control panels, and PLCs.
    • Review and update station isometric drawings.

    Measurement, Product Quality, and Coordination

    • Monitor gas and liquid product volumes through the measurement system, ensuring all corrections and proper qualities are applied.
    • Work closely with Gas Control, Commercial, and Enterprise PGP for liquids management.
    • React appropriately to off-spec product issues.
    • Serve as a liaison for ROW landowners, third-party producers, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.

    Safety, Compliance, and Emergency Response

    • Serve as first responder to pipeline emergencies.
    • Respond to and resolve one-call tickets.
    • Use proper tools and equipment to perform integrity management and regulatory tasks on pipelines.
    • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to safety and environmental guidelines and requirements when performing job duties.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Working Conditions

    • Work is performed in inside and outside environmental conditions, including heat and cold, wind, humidity, and atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, mist, gases, and poor ventilation.
    • Physical activities include standing or sitting for long hours, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
    • Close visual acuity is required for activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects or parts, operating machines, and using measurement devices.
    • Work may involve exposure to weather extremes, confined spaces, loud noises, vibration, moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, scaffolding and high places, high heat, and chemicals.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
    • Must perform job duties in required PPE, including steel toe boots, respirator, hard hat, and other PPE.
    • Occasional travel, including overnight stays, may be required for other work locations and/or offices; volume varies by work location.
    • Position is subject to DOT Pipeline drug/alcohol testing requirements.

    Education, Experience, and Qualifications

    • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Two-year associate degree preferred.
    • 10 years of oil and/or gas pipeline experience with demonstrated knowledge of compressor station and pipeline-related work.
    • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

    Licenses, Certifications, and Regulatory Knowledge

    • Valid Driver’s License.
    • Possess and maintain required certifications for work location, such as PHMSA Operator Qualification, Chevron Badge, and TWIC Card.
    • Working knowledge of applicable EPA, PHMSA, RRC, OSHA, API, and GPA requirements and procedures preferred.

    Skills and Attributes

    • Driven, self-motivated, and conscientious with a strong work ethic, leadership ability, and presence.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in English, required.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cooperatively and effectively with internal and external colleagues.
    • Ability to work independently, adapt, manage interruptions, prioritize, and complete assignments under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficient computer skills.
    • Must be able to travel and work on a call-out basis.
