About the Role:

The IT Specialist manages, maintains, and secures the company’s IT infrastructure while providing reliable day-to-day technology support across the business. The role combines hands-on network and systems administration, cybersecurity, troubleshooting, and IT service management.
This position is responsible for setting up and managing IT onboarding and ongoing support for all employees and contractors, including full-time staff and personnel working remotely or off-site. The IT Specialist also evaluates and manages third-party providers and provides regular reporting on IT usage, performance, and improvements.

Key Responsibilities: 

IT Infrastructure & Systems

• Manage and improve network infrastructure, including switches, routers, Wi-Fi, VPNs, VLANs, and firewalls.

• Administer Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory/Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, virtualization platforms, cloud services and core business applications.

• Manage technology deployment, software licensing, equipment replacement, and IT purchasing.

User Support & Lifecycle

• Provide day-to-day IT support for employees and contractors across office, remote and off-site environments.

• Manage onboarding, access changes and offboarding, including equipment, accounts, permissions, and company data.

• Provide practical user guidance and security awareness support.

Cybersecurity & Resilience

• Maintain endpoint, email, web and identity security controls, including MFA and appropriate access protections.

• Monitor systems, logs and alerts; manage vulnerabilities, patching, configuration standards, and incident response.

• Maintain backup and recovery processes, test restoration capability, and support business continuity planning.

Vendors, Compliance & Improvement

• Evaluate and manage IT providers, service agreements, renewals, escalations and vendor performance.

• Maintain IT asset records, network diagrams, procedures, and other key system documentation.

• Support applicable cybersecurity and compliance requirements, including CMMC/NIST controls and assessment activities.

• Provide regular management reporting and recommend improvements to IT reliability, security, efficiency, and user experience.

Required Skills, Experience and Behaviors:

• At least five years of hands-on experience across IT infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and user support.

• Strong experience with firewalls, routing, switching, VPNs, VLANs, Wi-Fi and network troubleshooting.

• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, Linux, virtualization and cloud services.

• Practical experience with endpoint security, MFA, patching, monitoring, backup, and recovery.

• Experience supporting users, managing onboarding/offboarding, software licensing, IT assets, and equipment deployment.

• Experience managing third-party IT providers and service agreements.

• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently across the business.

• Relevant certifications such as Security+, Network+, CCNA/CCNP, CISSP or CISM, and experience in aerospace, defiance, manufacturing or another regulated environment, are preferred.

Base salary range of $85,000 - $95,000 DOE per annum. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, including but not limited to location, skill set; relevant experience; and other business and organizational needs.
