FT High School Mathematics Teacher

Thomas Sumter Academy seeks a full-time High School Math Teacher. Our ideal candidate enjoys working with students across a wide range of abilities and interests and are committed to their own professional growth. We seek a teacher who can instill in our students an appreciation of math both for its own sake and as an interdisciplinary problem solving tool.

Responsibilities

• Support the mission of The Thomas Sumter Academy
• Provide guidance, instruction, and support, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs
• Design innovative, engaging, and differentiated high school math lessons
• Plan assignments and curriculum in collaboration with math teachers and other departments
• Work one-on-one with students daily for support and enrichment
• Implement school policies and procedures

• Teaching experience with Gr. 9-12 – Geometry, Algebra 2, and Stats
• Probability and Stats
• Strong classroom management skills
• Excellent instructional delivery
• Bachelor’s degree
• State licensure (preferred but not required)
• Interest in collaborating with others.
• Experience using smart boards/Promethean boards and other classroom technology.
• References will need to be provided upon request.

Competitive salary is based on experience, educational degree, and teaching assignment load. Extra-curricular duties may be required of the candidate.
