Crew Chief

Position: Crew Chief EMT or Paramedic

This is a 24/72 hour shift

Reports to: Area Operations Manager

Direct Reports: Field Training Officer(s) & Field Providers

Job Responsibilities:

· All duties and responsibilities of a Thorne Ambulance Service Paramedic/EMT

· Provides direction, servant leadership, and support to colleagues and direct reports.

· Prioritizes organizational needs and objectives by supporting the goals and vision of TAS

· Ensures patient care provision and customer service are delivered with a high standard of excellence.

· Advocate for the needs of fellow team members

· Maintains a high level of clinical excellence and professionalism

· Participates in and often directs FTO/leadership educational opportunities

· Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift, push, pull, and move 150lbs independently (300lbs with a partner)

· Able and willing to be seated, standing, walking, etc. for lengthy periods of time.

· Ability to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.

· Ability to successfully mitigate stressful situations with co-worker, healthcare providers, patients, and the general public

· Flexibility to respond to emergency and non-emergency requests for service at any given time while assigned to a shift, including up until, and beyond, scheduled “off” times.

Position Requirements:

· Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude

· 3 Years of Experience as a Paramedic or EMT

· AHA and/or NAEMT instructor credentials (preferred)

· Must have and maintain certification as a State & Nationally Registered Paramedic or EMT

· Must meet all current requirements of a Thorne Ambulance Paramedic or EMT

· Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Strong knowledge of local, state, and national EMS regulations
