Job Summary

The Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides outpatient and inpatient therapy services under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. Delivers patient-centered care, assists with treatment plans, and supports rehabilitation goals while ensuring compliance with established standards of care.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Current Mississippi Physical Therapist Assistant licensure

Preferred Qualifications

Previous inpatient and outpatient therapy experience preferred

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Observe and evaluate patient condition and report findings appropriately
Assist in development and implementation of patient plan of care under supervision of Physical Therapist
Assess and manage patient pain appropriately
Provide patient and caregiver education regarding therapy, safety, and infection control
Develop and document patient goals and progress
Follow discharge planning processes and complete required documentation
Communicate patient updates to physician and healthcare team accurately and timely
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards
Participate in team-based care delivery and support organizational goals
Attend required in-services, training, and meetings
Maintain compliance with legal, ethical, and clinical practice standards
Adhere to infection control protocols and standard precautions
Follow physician/provider orders and perform additional duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive physical movements
Ability to perform overhead lifting and patient handling activities
Ability to assist patients with mobility and therapeutic exercises
