    Job Title: Business Support Assistant - Family Help Teams
    Salary: £27,435 to £29,715 per annum
    Grade: B
    Contract Type: Fixed Term - 18 months
    Working Hours: 37 hours per week

    About the Department 

    The Family Help Service works with children, young people and families to provide the right support at the right time, helping to improve outcomes and prevent issues from escalating. The service brings together a range of professionals who work collaboratively to support families through assessment, planning and intervention. As a Business Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the service by providing effective administrative support, maintaining accurate records and helping teams deliver a high quality service to families across Thurrock.

    About the Role 

    As a Business Support Assistant you will be responsible for:

    • Providing efficient administrative support to Family Help practitioners, managers and wider teams.
    • Organising and supporting meetings, including preparing documentation, taking minutes and distributing actions.
    • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring information is updated on relevant systems in a timely manner.
    • Managing correspondence, telephone enquiries and referrals, ensuring these are dealt with professionally and sensitively.
    • Supporting statutory processes and service activities to help ensure the best outcomes for children, young people and families.
    • Contributing to the effective day to day operation of the service and identifying opportunities to improve administrative processes.

    This role is currently hybrid and office attendance is required in both the Civic Offices and our Family Hubs within Thurrock.

    What We’re Looking For 

    We’re looking for someone who has:

    • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
    • Good communication and customer service skills.
    • Experience of managing records and maintaining accurate information.
    • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications.
    • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • A flexible and proactive approach to work.
