    Job description

We are looking for a skilled and hands-on CNC Technician to join our Development Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in manufacturing precision components used in assembly automation systems, tooling modifications, and continuous improvement projects across the company.

This is a hands-on position ideally suited to an individual who enjoys precision machining, problem-solving, and contributing directly to the development and improvement of manufacturing processes. The role operates on a 2-shift rotation basis.

    Key Responsibilities

    •    Manufacture precision components for assembly automation systems, fixtures, machine upgrades, and tooling projects.
    •    Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes.
    •    Generate and optimize machining programs using CAM software, preferably Edgecam.
    •    Manufacture EDM electrodes for mould insert repair and modification activities.
    •    Interpret engineering drawings and ensure parts are produced to specification and tolerance requirements.
    •    Perform machine set-ups, tooling selection, and process optimization to maximize efficiency and quality.
    •    Inspect completed components using appropriate measuring equipment to verify dimensional accuracy.
    •    Support automation and engineering projects by producing prototype and production-ready components.
    •    Assist in troubleshooting and implementing improvements to existing production equipment and tooling.
    •    Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment within the Toolroom and Manufacturing areas.
    •    Collaborate closely with Engineering, Automation, Tooling, Production, and Quality teams.

We are looking for a practical and detail-oriented individual with a strong machining background and a passion for producing high-quality precision components.

    Requirements

    •    Technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Toolmaking, Precision Engineering, or a related discipline.
    •    Proven experience operating and programming CNC milling machines and CNC lathes.
    •    Experience using CAM software, preferably Edgecam.
    •    Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
    •    Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, materials, and tolerancing.
    •    Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
    •    Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    •    Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    •    Willingness to work on a 2-shift rotation basis.

    What We Offer

    • A highly varied role combining engineering design and hands-on manufacturing.
    • The opportunity to develop innovative automation and tooling solutions from concept to reality.
    • Exposure to modern CNC machining and advanced manufacturing techniques.
    • A collaborative and dynamic engineering environment.
    • Professional development opportunities and continuous technical learning.
    • Competitive remuneration package based on experience and qualifications.

    About the Role

This role is ideal for a skilled machinist who takes pride in producing precision components and enjoys contributing to projects that have a direct impact on manufacturing performance. The successful candidate will become an important member of the Development Team, supporting innovation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the business.

Precision. Craftsmanship. Innovation. Build the solutions that drive our manufacturing forward.
