Licensed Veterinary Technician - Tongass Veterinary Services

Located in Juneau, Alaska, Tongass Veterinary Services is a full-service veterinary hospital providing high-quality medical and surgical care for dogs, cats, and horses. The practice offers comprehensive services ranging from wellness and preventive care to dentistry, internal medicine, surgery, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, and in-house laboratory and pharmacy services. With a skilled and compassionate team, Tongass is committed to creating a friendly, caring environment built on trust while providing individualized care for every patient and their family.

We are currently seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join out team. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Veterinary Technician, experience with small animal medicine, and flexible availability. Equine experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Veterinary Technician

• Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) required

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.

• Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines.
• Experience with surgery and general anesthesia

• Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records.

• Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
