ABOUT THE ROLE
Tortuga Rum Company is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support our Procurement and Supply Chain function — helping ensure timely procurement, accurate inventory, and strong demand planning across the business. It's a great entry point for someone looking to build a long-term career in Procurement and Supply Chain Management.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Key Duties and Additional Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Raise and manage purchase orders, and follow up with suppliers on pricing, lead times, and delivery
- Monitor inventory levels, support replenishment planning, and maintain accurate ERP records
- Assist with demand forecasting using historical sales data and market trends
- Build strong supplier relationships and collaborate closely with Sales, Finance, and Warehouse teams
- Prepare purchasing and inventory reports, and support stocktakes and reconciliations
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- High school diploma + 2–4 years' experience, or a Certificate/Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, or Logistics + 1–2 years'
- Experience within wholesale, distribution, or manufacturing
- Experience using ERP or inventory management systems, and purchasing software
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel ability
- Strong organizational skills, a good understanding of sourcing, and the ability to maintain vendor relationships
- Exposure to demand planning or inventory forecasting, and an understanding of supply chain principles
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments with minimal supervision
- Attention to detail, initiative, and accountability, with a commercially aware, continuous-improvement mindset
