Overview
This position is a student-focused position within a highly collaborative culture.
Under the direction of the Master of Science in Medical Health Sciences (MSMHS) Program Director, the Student Success Coordinator is responsible for 2 main roles:
Providing career support to MSMHS studentsAssisting in designing, delivering, and coordinating learning strategies for MSMHS students, especially for students who face academic challenges.Assistance in both the program’s admissions process and recruitment will also be needed. The Student Success Coordinator must be student-focused and organized with attention to detail. This position will require collaboration with multiple campus departments, including Student Affairs, as well as other Touro programs. We are seeking an individual with strong collaboration skills in a culture that highly values communication and transparency.
Responsibilities
Recurring Tasks:
- Provide individual career counseling via one-on-one meetings to students to help them navigate their transition into a graduate program of study, including application to medical school and to physician assistant programs.
- Help students design individualized student study strategies and learning plans to help them academically succeed. Monitor and follow up on individual students’ progress on their academic improvement plans. This will require collaboration with Touro's academic support services offered through student services.
- Collaborate with other MSMHS staff on the program recruitment and admissions process
- Collaborate closely with student affairs, Touro admissions, the osteopathic program’s pre-clinical education department, and other Touro programs.
Periodic Tasks:
- Participate in various MSMHS program events, such as new student orientation.
- Attending a few recruitment events throughout the year
- Committee work
- Connecting with MSMHS alumni to help with the MSMHS program
- Act as an advisor to MS students
- Organize mock interviews
- Organize exam proctoring and supervise work study students
- Design and conduct career and academic success presentations.
- Supervise Research students
Qualifications
- Master’s degree required in Counseling, Higher Education Administration, Career counseling, Education, or related field.
- Experience and enthusiasm in working with a diverse student, staff, and faculty population
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively as the situation demands; managing diverse competing priorities in a professional and positive manner.
- Experience working with graduate and/or first professional degree students is desired

USD $87,409.92/Yr.
Minimum Salary
USD $69,927.93/Yr.
