Purchasing Assistant

The opportunity:

As a Purchasing Assistant, you will join us in a 12-month paternity cover position. You will work hands-on with daily purchasing activities and gradually build the operational insight needed to contribute to improvements and development projects. You will work closely with colleagues in
cross-borders and professional fields from Purchasing, Accounting, Sales and our warehouse functions. 

The role is particularly suited to a newly graduated candidate who is eager to learn and develop within purchasing. We are not expecting you to know everything from day one. What matters most is that you bring curiosity, a structured approach and the right mindset for working with data. By learning how our purchasing processes work in practice, you will help strengthen workflows, reporting, data quality and automation opportunities,

The primary tasks:

• Place purchase orders and ensure that order information is complete and accurate

• Follow up on open purchase orders, supplier confirmations and expected delivery dates, and keep relevant systems and trackers updated

• Monitor the shared Purchasing mailbox and coordinate operational requests with suppliers and internal stakeholders

• Support purchasing-related invoice handling and help resolve discrepancies in cooperation with Accounting

• Analyse
  purchasing and supplier data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improved transparency and decision-making

• Contribute to process improvements, standardization and smaller projects within master data, reporting, systems and automation

Qualifications:

We are looking for a Purchasing Assistant who can identify with the description below

• You are newly graduated or at the beginning of your career, preferably with a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain management, business, economics, engineering, logistics or a related field

• Previous experience in purchasing, supply chain, administration, or working with data is an advantage, but not a requirement

• Experience working with an ERP or procure-to-pay system is an advantage

• An interest in data and a willingness to develop your Excel and analytical skills

• Fluent written and spoken English

• Experience with Power BI, process improvement, or automation is an advantage, but not a requirement.
