Responsibilities & Deliverables

• Own the enterprise AI transformation end to end, from use-case intake through delivery to measured business value.
• Run the AI use-case registry and intake process; score and prioritise use cases, assigning delivery motions and waves.
• Manage cross-team dependencies across functions, tech ops and delivery partners.
• Drive build-versus-buy calls, vendor selection and statement-of-work validation.
• Functionally lead the central AI team and steer function transformation leads to land adoption and ROI.
• Prepare governance and risk-tiering inputs; represent the programme in the SteerCo and biweekly Governance Committee, and contribute to board updates.
• Deliver portfolio reporting that leaders can act on — decisions, not just status.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years running technical, data or AI programmes, including portfolio ownership at head-of or director level — not purely a PMO or coordination role.
• Experience governing a portfolio of AI use cases at enterprise scale (not a single project), with real decision rights over what gets funded.
• Proven leadership of a team or cross-functional delivery network — the authority to decide and hold others to account.
• Confident communicating at steering-committee level and driving build-versus-buy decisions.
• Credible with senior leaders across sales, finance, HR, operations and strategy — able to influence and steer, not just inform.
• Strong business-outcomes mindset, with a high degree of autonomy and initiative.
• Bonus: fintech or B2B enterprise software; familiarity with AI governance and the EU AI Act.

• Business value from deployed use cases is measured, communicated and demonstrably growing.
• A single, trusted AI portfolio view exists — every use case scored, prioritised and assigned to a delivery motion.
• A governed FY27 roadmap is approved, with the Top 5 use cases funded and in delivery.
• Leaders make faster, evidence-based investment decisions because reporting is clear and action-oriented.
• Build-versus-buy and vendor decisions are made on time and stand up to scrutiny.
