    About the Role

    We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring our software products and internal operations remain aligned with evolving regulatory requirements across the financial services sector. You will be responsible for identifying upcoming regulatory developments, assessing their applicability to our business, coordinating gap analyses, and converting regulatory obligations into clear, actionable business and product requirements.

    The ideal candidate combines strong regulatory knowledge with experience in internal controls, industry frameworks, and audit standards such as ISO27001 and SOC 2.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ability to evaluate emerging technology and AI risks and translate regulatory developments into practical business controls.

    Regulatory Horizon Scanning & Analysis

    • Monitor and track emerging regulatory developments affecting technology providers servicing the financial services sector.

    • Maintain a structured regulatory inventory and forward-looking regulatory change calendar.

    • Evaluate applicability and impact of new or updated regulations on company operations, software products, and customers.

    • Conduct regulatory gap analyses and propose remediation or enhancement plans.

    Business Requirements & Stakeholder Translation

    • Translate regulatory obligations into clear business and functional requirements for product, engineering, and operational teams.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure regulatory considerations are integrated early into product design and development.

    • Support documentation of regulatory requirements, implementation controls, and evidence expectations.

    • Communicate regulatory risks and recommendations to leadership in a concise and actionable format.

    Internal Controls & SOC 2 Compliance

    • Support the design, implementation, and enhancement of internal controls aligned to SOC 2, ISO 27001, and other industry frameworks.

    • Work with internal audit, risk, and IT/security teams to ensure controls are operating effectively and remain audit‑ready.

    • Participate in SOC 2 readiness assessments, evidence collection, and external audit coordination.

    • Identify control gaps or process weaknesses and partner with owners to drive remediation.

    Risk & Compliance Operations

    • Support operation of the firm's AI governance framework, including documentation, governance reporting and issue tracking

    • Assist with the creation and maintenance of compliance policies, standards, and procedures.

    • Support customer due‑diligence requests relating to regulatory compliance and audit frameworks.

    • Contribute to internal compliance training and awareness initiatives.

    • Produce periodic compliance reports and dashboards for leadership.

    Qualifications & Experience

    Required

    • Bachelor’s degree in law, compliance, finance, risk, or related discipline.

    • 3+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, risk, or audit—preferably in financial services, fintech, or SaaS.

    • Experience performing regulatory impact assessments and gap analyses.

    • Solid knowledge of internal controls, control testing, and assurance frameworks.

    • Exposure to SOC 2 audits, Trust Services Criteria, and evidencing processes.

    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex regulations into practical guidance.

    Preferred

    • Professional certifications such as CRCM, CAMS, CISA, CISM, CRISC, or similar.

    • Experience in B2B SaaS or technology product environments.

    • Familiarity with software development lifecycles (SDLC), Agile environments, or product governance models.

    • High attention to detail and structured documentation skills.

    • Ability to manage multiple regulatory changes simultaneously and meet deadlines.

    • Strong relationship‑building skills across technical and business teams.

    • Proactive, self‑directed, and comfortable in fast‑paced environments.
