Software Quality Analyst II | Chennai

OVERVIEW

The Associate Software Quality Analyst II is responsible for testing and validating software enhancements and system fixes to ensure they function flawlessly and meet defined business requirement. The Associate SQA works closely with the supervisor and cross-functional teams to assist in the design, execution, and planning of software testing activities

DESCRIPTION

• Analyze and understand business and functional requirements; create, update, and maintain test cases and the Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) aligned with user stories, with minimal guidance from Senior/Lead Analysts.

• Execute manual test cases for functional, regression, and integration testing to ensure system stability and performance.

• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Developers, and the Release Manager to ensure deliverables meet quality assurance standards and are completed on schedule.

• Learn and apply SQA processes, methodologies, and best practices in daily activities.

• Assist in coordinating and supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities as required.

• Actively participate in sprint planning meetings, daily standup meetings, and other Agile ceremonies to ensure effective collaboration with both local and remote sprint team members.

• Coordinate and work effectively with distributed global teams.

• Complete any other tasks that are deemed appropriate for the role assigned by the manager/supervisor.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Demonstrates a basic understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), Agile methodologies, and core software testing principles and concepts.

• Ability to create test cases, execute test cases, and report issues in test management tools.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Life Sciences, or a related field.

• Minimum 2 years of testing experience in Web and/or Mobile applications.

• Familiarity with automation tools e.g., Selenium, Specflow, Postman or similar tool for API testing is a plus.

• Familiarity with test management and defect management tools (e.g., Jira, Testiny, Test rail, HP ALM, Zephyr).
