Job Overview: The Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric consultation, support, and guidance in a person-centered manner to the care management and clinical teams.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Clinical Team for Person Centered Services.
• Review and provide feedback regarding Life Plans upon request.
• Provide consultation on psychiatrically complex cases.
• Provide clinical guidance regarding support or treatment options for substance use or chronic health conditions.
• Review of and consultation regarding hospital discharge summaries when requested.
• Consult with care management teams regarding transitional care.
• Facilitate a brief clinical discussion between the care manager and member regarding transitional care upon request.
• Consult with nursing support specialists regarding medication regimens and medication options upon request.
• Responsible to provide support and consultation to the after hours on call staff, as needed
• Other duties as assigned/requested.

• Knowledge of developmental disabilities, mental health, and social determinants of health.
• Knowledge of person-centered planning regulations.

• Demonstrates capacity to use Health Information Technology to facilitate communication.
• Knowledge of confidentiality regulations/HIPPA.

• Demonstrate a comfort level of engaging with people with behavioral health needs.
Experience:
• Possession of a license to practice medicine in the state of New York.
• Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry and/or Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
• Knowledge about OPWDD services and regulations.
• Strong computer knowledge.
• Familiarity with person-first, person-centered planning concepts.
