Responsibilities
- Assist with preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers while utilizing personal safety equipment as required.
- Move trucks in and out of the shop for maintenance
- Open repair orders and charge the appropriate parts to the repair order
- Perform tire inspections/appropriate paperwork to company standards
- Performs shop clean-up and housekeeping responsibilities as well as other miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
- Inspects and maintains basic vehicle/accessorial worthiness including proper fuel levels and tire air pressure, fluid levels, brakes, lights, and safety equipment, and submits reports indicating the condition of equipment.
- Possesses and demonstrates the ability to perform assigned tasks in a manner that adheres to the company's Safety, Health, Environmental, and Security policies.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- 3 - 4 years of experience on 3 axle 18 wheelers
- Experience with scan tool operations and vehicle diagnostic
- Ability to provide own basic hand tools
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of chemical trailers is a plus
- Ability to read and comprehend service manuals
- Knowledge of tools and equipment used in the shop to repair and maintain company equipment
- Knowledge of D.O.T. regulations and out-of-service parameters for tractors, trailers, and accessorial equipment.
- Knowledgeable in ELD tracking equipment, installation, troubleshooting, and operation.
- Experienced with PTO-driven air compressor installations, including Hydrochem systems.
- Extensive knowledge of Class 8 trucks and 18-wheelers, including diagnostics, preventive maintenance (PM), troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Strong knowledge of commercial truck tires, including inspection, maintenance, replacement, and troubleshooting.Experienced with laptop-based diagnostic systems and software, including:

- JPRO
- Allison DOC
- Cummins INSITE
- Skilled in diagnosing engine, transmission, electrical, and mechanical issues using OEM and aftermarket diagnostic equipment.
