Functions under the general supervision of the RN Supervisor for IDD. Position includes performing technical nursing duties, a variety of patient care activities that include, but are not limited to: administration of medications as needed/ordered, obtaining and recording vital signs, conducting medication education, symptom management, health teaching and other related activities. Has moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Provides direct care for the individual patients; functions as a member of the treatment team, and complies with established policies and procedures of TTBH and Nursing services. Must understand that duties and location of work are subject to change as determined by the administration to meet the needs of the Center.
Required to participate in Clinical Supervision sessions via the assigned RN Supervisor to meet the required monthly clinical standards regarding the LVN’s clinical duties and performance.
Graduate from an approved school or college of nursing. Licensed to practice as a Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state of Texas plus one year of work experience as an LVN in a recognized health agency, hospital, or health care facility.
