As a Founding Product Engineer at an e-commerce-focused SaaS startup, you will own product work from identifying customer problems through design, implementation, and launch. You will work directly with merchants and help shape product direction while building a thoughtful, maintainable engineering foundation.
Own features end to end, contributing across frontend and backend as needed.
Talk with customers, join calls, and review session replays to understand their needs.
Make product and implementation decisions, including shaping user flows without relying on detailed specs.
Build polished interfaces with careful attention to product and visual craft.
Keep the codebase maintainable and welcoming for future engineers.
Four to eight years of product engineering experience, including owning features from problem definition through production.
Hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js, with ownership across frontend and backend.
Strong computer science fundamentals and experience working at a company with a high engineering bar.
Experience at a growth-stage startup, ideally one backed by venture capital.
A portfolio or examples demonstrating thoughtful product and interface craft.
Experience with AI-assisted development tools and, ideally, e-commerce or the Shopify ecosystem.
Salary range: $150,000 to $350,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
