Join a small, early-stage team building AI-powered video technology. As the founding backend engineer, you will lead the design of core systems and help establish engineering practices that support reliable, scalable product development.
Design and build scalable backend systems that power AI video creation.
Develop infrastructure for agentic workflows, video generation pipelines, reinforcement learning loops, and real-time data processing.
Own distributed systems architecture and improve reliability through automated testing, performance benchmarking, and end-to-end observability.
Partner with research, engineering, and design teammates to develop product features and APIs.
Set technical direction and engineering standards through strong code, clear documentation, and effective communication.
Five to ten years of backend software engineering experience, including work at an early-stage or high-growth startup.
Experience building scalable backend and distributed systems, large-scale data processing, information retrieval, and asynchronous workflows.
At least 12 months of industry experience designing and building agentic systems, large language model applications, or generative AI systems.
Industry experience with TypeScript and AWS; familiarity with S3, Lambda, RDS, SQS, ECS, FastAPI, Docker, and CI/CD is relevant.
Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and system design, a formal degree, fluency in English, and experience leading technical direction and setting code standards.
Annual salary range: $225,000 to $275,000. Visa sponsorship is not available.
