The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This is a full-time position based out of our shop in Olds, Alberta. Reporting to the Shop Foreman, you will be responsible for equipment repair & maintenance, ensuring all machinery operates efficiently and safely, and assisting in training junior staff to ensure our fleet runs smoothly.

You should have a thorough mechanical knowledge and experience in maintaining and repairing various types of heavy machinery and equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of industrial equipment, electrical systems, and the ability to read schematics.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including company vehicles, semi trucks, skid steers, excavators and other equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Assemble and disassemble machinery components as needed for repairs.
• Interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems.
• Utilize power tools effectively to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards while working on industrial equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience 

Equipment in our fleet

• Semi trucks, Cummins and Detroit.
• Step deck trailers and Super-B flat decks.
• LD & MD Pickup Trucks.
• John Deere Excavators.
• John Deere Skid steers.

This position requires candidates to

• Successfully complete pre-employment screening including drug and alcohol testing.
• Successfully complete a background check.
