Senior Technician – Access Control Systems (Installations & Maintenance)

An overview of your duties
- As a technician you are responsible for the installation, service, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of access control systems and alarm systems in accordance with the company’s standard operating procedures.
- Adhere to and maintain technical standards and standard operating procedures
- Provide remote support as and when required
- Be available for call out
- Service the Company’s product portfolio as directed in an effective and cost-efficient manner
- To ensure that at all times tools and equipment are regularly maintained in good and safe working order and that test gear is regularly calibrated and labelled as required by ISO9000
- Maintain all documentation and ensure that records are up to date.
- Communicate appropriately with the Director TSU Technical Services to discuss new projects, receive work and report progress in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with established procedures
- To be aware of all contract possibilities and add on business opportunities
- To observe and promote safe working practices and help maintain depots in a tidy and workmanlike manner
The experience you should have
- In-depth experience in the installation, troubleshooting and repairing of access control systems
- Alarm system installation and repairs (Paradox, DSC, IDS, Texecom, Caddx, Ajax & other major brands)
- In-depth knowledge of alarm communicator devices and applications
- Electric fence installation and repairs
- CCTV (IP and analogue including cabling, installation, setup, programming, & troubleshooting), all major brands
- Experienced in working on networks
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software
- Strong team player
- Ability to work effectively without supervision
- Alarm, CCTV, Electric Fence, Access Control, Gate Motor knowledge
- Good technical skills and workmanship
- PSIRA registered
