Position Overview
Tsunami Tsolutions is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead and manage customer projects supporting military and application development initiatives.
This is a hands-on project management role requiring direct responsibility for planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling work across scope, schedule, budget, deliverables, risks, issues, changes, and customer commitments.
Depending on experience and business need, the Program Manager may manage a complex project or multiple related projects within a customer program or account. While this position represents a senior project management opportunity, experienced mid-level Project Managers with demonstrated ownership of complex customer projects are also encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience managing projects from planning through delivery, working directly with customers and cross-functional teams, maintaining project-management controls, resolving execution challenges, and driving accountability for commitments and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, control, and delivery of one or more customer projects.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, forecasts, deliverables, dependencies, and resource requirements.
- Manage project performance across scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and customer commitments.
- Monitor actual performance against project plans and take corrective action when schedule, budget, scope, or delivery performance deviates from expectations.
- Identify, document, manage, and escalate project risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions through resolution.
- Manage changes to project scope, schedule, cost, resources, or deliverables through established change-control processes.
- Translate contractual requirements, statements of work, customer priorities, and technical inputs into executable project activities and deliverables.
- Lead project status meetings, customer reviews, internal coordination meetings, and other project-management activities.
- Establish clear ownership and due dates for project actions and actively drive follow-through and closure.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams that may include application development, technical services, support, IT, information security, export control, operations, contracts, finance, and other stakeholders.
- Partner with technical leads to maintain alignment across requirements, development, integrations, testing, deployment, support readiness, and customer acceptance.
- Prepare and communicate accurate project status, schedule performance, financial performance, risks, issues, forecasts, and decision needs to customers and leadership.
- Maintain strong working relationships with customers, project teams, account leadership, partners, and subcontractors.
- Support proposal development, estimates, follow-on work, and project planning activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate and current project documentation and project-management systems throughout project execution.
- Support continuous improvement of project-management practices and delivery processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on business and organizational needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, information systems, project management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Three or more years of direct project management experience with accountability for project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and deliverables.
- Demonstrated experience managing project issues, changes, dependencies, and customer commitments.
- Experience developing and maintaining project schedules, forecasts, status reporting, risk and issue tracking, action tracking, and other core project-management artifacts.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and driving work toward defined milestones and deliverables.
- Experience identifying project performance concerns and driving corrective actions through resolution.
- Experience working directly with customers or external stakeholders regarding requirements, priorities, project performance, risks, and deliverables.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and concurrent work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate project status, risks, recommendations, and decision needs to technical teams, customers, and leadership.
- Ability to meet customer, site-access, and applicable background-screening requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five or more years of progressive project or program management experience.
- Experience managing multiple related projects within a customer program or account.
- PMP or comparable project-management certification.
- Experience working within or supporting a formal PMO environment.
- Experience supporting U.S. military, defense, aerospace OEM, airline, MRO, or other highly regulated customers.
- Experience managing application development, ERP, enterprise technology, engineering, or other technical projects.
- Working knowledge of application development lifecycles, including requirements, configuration or development, integration, testing, deployment, and support.
- Experience with Agile, hybrid, and traditional project-delivery methodologies.
- Experience managing project budgets, labor forecasts, resource plans, estimates-to-complete, or similar project financial controls.
- Familiarity with Maintenix or similar maintenance, engineering, logistics, or enterprise aviation applications and their integrations.
- Knowledge of ITAR/export-control practices, information security requirements, Technology Control Plans, and operational security principles.
Additional Requirements
- Must satisfy the export-control eligibility requirements stated above and comply with all applicable ITAR, customer, and company security requirements.
- Ability to travel up to 30% to customer, partner, and company locations, including travel that may require overnight stays.
- Ability to work across multiple priorities and time zones as organizational and customer needs require.
Work Environment
This position operates in professional office, customer-site, and approved remote-work environments based on organizational and customer requirements. Remote work, when authorized, must be performed from an approved, private, and secure location.
Company and customer equipment, controlled technical data, ITAR-regulated information, and other sensitive information must be handled in strict accordance with applicable security and Technology Control Plan requirements. Customer or program requirements may be more restrictive and may require regular on-site presence.
