Demurrage Coordinator (Contractor)

Location: Houston, TX (Galleria)

Status: Contractor (up to 12 months)

The Shipping Assistant will support the Demurrage team with various tasks, including data entry, processing claims, and allocating them to demurrage analysts.  Includes coordinating payment arrangements, preparing and filing documents, and maintaining up-to-date demurrage sheets and reports. The Assistant will work closely with internal teams while also being able to work independently to resolve inquiries.

Responsibilities:

• Review demurrage claims.
• Record and process all claims received and issued by our internal accounting process.
• Prepare and communicate payment instruction documentation to the operations team for delivery to various counterparties and customers.
• Scan, send, and save the documents per company accounting and compliance process.
• Report the status of demurrage claims to operations and trading teams.
• Daily review and reconciliation of information in various systems and worksheets to ensure accuracy of transactions.
• Responsible for verification of approvals of contracts before uploading into the online system.
• Other duties as required.
