    Job description

    About Us

At UniSuper, we're dedicated to delivering exceptional retirement outcomes for our members. With over 70% of our funds under management managed in-house, we're known for our investment excellence, strong governance, and commitment to long-term member value. Our culture is built on genuine care, being better together, and a passion for outcomes.

We're looking for an Investment Reporting & Valuation Governance Specialist to join our Investment Reporting team. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance, investment operations, audit, valuation or assurance professional who enjoys combining technical expertise with strong governance and stakeholder engagement.

    The opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Investment Reporting, you'll play a key role supporting the valuation implementation, governance controls and investment reporting activities across UniSuper's unlisted and private market investments. You'll work closely with investment teams, custodians, valuers, auditors and internal stakeholders to help ensure valuations are implemented accurately, key controls operate effectively and reporting is supported by robust evidence and governance processes.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Supporting valuation implementation and control activities across unlisted assets and special purpose vehicles.
    • Coordinating valuation instructions with custodians and monitoring valuation processing and exceptions.
    • Conducting private market performance and valuation analysis.
    • Supporting valuation governance activities including NAV backtesting, exception reporting and issue management.
    • Assisting with audit, risk and compliance activities through analysis, documentation and evidence gathering.
    • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive effective outcomes and continuous improvement.

    About you

You'll bring experience from superannuation, funds management, custody, valuation, audit, risk, investment operations or a related financial services environment. You enjoy working with complex financial information, have a strong control mindset, and can confidently partner with stakeholders across a broad investment landscape.

    You'll also bring:

    • Knowledge of investment, valuation, accounting, financial reporting or audit concepts.
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking capability.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • A governance-focused approach with strong attention to detail and evidence discipline.
    • The ability to influence and challenge stakeholders constructively while building trusted relationships.
    • A pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
    • Professional qualifications such as CA, CPA, CFA or a risk, audit or assurance certification will be highly regarded.

    What we offer

UniSuper believes that the best way to achieve great things is when we come together and collaborate. Therefore, we ask you to be able to commit to 60% of your time in office. UniSuper is proud of our culture and benefits, which empower our people to achieve their full potential, thrive, and grow their career with us. These include:

    • 17% superannuation contribution
    • $1,500 annual development funding
    • 20 weeks paid parental leave
    • Additional paid leave benefits

It should go without saying, but at UniSuper, we value and celebrate diversity and inclusion. We believe that a variety of perspectives, backgrounds, interests, abilities, and skills is crucial for delivering great retirement outcomes for our members. We invite you to apply for the roles that suit your career aspirations, even if you don’t meet all the requirements.
