ABOUT US
Global Precision Products – Middleton (formerly MK Services) is a precision CNC machining operation serving the Aerospace and Defense industries. Our facility is AS9100 registered and ITAR compliant. Our customers hold us to delivery dates as tightly as they hold us to tolerances, which makes the dock one of the most consequential seats in the building.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Shipping and Receiving Lead owns everything that crosses our dock in either direction, plus the stockroom and the inventory inside it. That means outbound customer shipments packed and documented correctly the first time, inbound material received and put away accurately, and a stockroom where what the system says is on the shelf is actually on the shelf.
This is a hands-on role in a shop our size. You will run the function and you will also pack the boxes, drive the forklift, and count the parts. The person who succeeds here is organized enough to keep the paperwork clean under pressure and practical enough to keep the dock moving on a day when three hot jobs all need to ship by four o'clock.

SHIPPING & RECEIVING
• Own all outbound and inbound shipping activity, including packing, labeling, documentation, and carrier scheduling.
• Pack machined parts so they arrive undamaged — close-tolerance work requires real care in how parts are separated, cushioned, and secured.
• Coordinate shipments to and from our outside processing partners for heat treating, plating, grinding, and other sub-contracted operations, working closely with Production Control so parts keep moving on schedule.
• Receive incoming material and parts returning from outside processing, verify against the purchase order and packing list, and log receipts accurately in our system.
• Flag receiving discrepancies — short counts, wrong material, damage in transit — promptly and in writing so they can be resolved before the shortage reaches the floor.
• Manage relationships and rates with carriers and freight providers; select the right service level for the delivery commitment.
• Maintain shipping records and documentation to AS9100 requirements.
• Support export control requirements on international shipments, including screening, destination verification, and export documentation, in coordination with management.
• Keep the dock, shipping area, and receiving area clean, organized, and safe.
STOCKROOM & INVENTORY
• Own the stockroom — organization, labeling, put-away, and controlled issue of material to the floor.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and investigate variances rather than simply adjusting them.
• Run cycle counts on a regular schedule and support physical inventories.
• Monitor stock levels on consumables and shop supplies and reorder before they run out.
• Ensure material traceability is preserved through receipt, storage, and issue, as required in an aerospace environment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Five or more years in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or stockroom work, with at least some of it in a supervisory or ownership capacity — or equivalent depth in a small manufacturing operation.
• Hands-on experience with inventory control and cycle counting in a system of record (ERP, MRP, or comparable).
• Comfortable with shipping software and carrier systems (UPS, FedEx, LTL freight).
• Forklift certified, or able to become certified — we will certify the right candidate.
• Accurate, disciplined documentation habits; this role lives or dies on paperwork being right.
• Able to prioritize under pressure when several jobs need to ship the same day.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Must be a U.S. Person as defined under ITAR (22 CFR 120.62) due to the nature of the work performed at this facility.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in a machine shop, job shop, or other high-mix manufacturing environment.
• Background in Aerospace and Defense under AS9100 or a comparable quality system.
• Experience coordinating outside processing or sub-contract shipments.
• Experience setting up or improving a stockroom that had gotten away from someone.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
• On-site, full time, in an active machine shop and dock environment; required PPE, including safety glasses and safety footwear, in designated areas.
• Frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of parts, cartons, and skids; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and move heavier loads with a forklift, pallet jack, or hoist.
• Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for most of the shift; work at the dock is exposed to outdoor temperatures when doors are open.
• Operating a forklift and pallet jack as a routine part of the job.
