    Job description

    The APS Emotional Intelligence Supporter  is responsible for providing collaborative and advisory services to teachers, counselors, parents/guardian, administrators, and other personnel related to all students with behavioral or social/emotional needs that interfere with the educational process.

    Anticipated Time Commitments:

    2.    Participating in meetings/training:

    Responsibilities/Duties:

    1. Assist with providing crisis intervention and individual counseling for students on various issues such as truancy, rebelliousness, aggressiveness, and social withdrawal.
    2. Provide assistance and consultation to school personnel in matters related to student welfare, attendance and discipline, including implementation of school policies, regulations, and procedures.
    3. Analyze discipline and attendance data for assigned schools and report observations and recommendations to Emotional Intelligence Lead.
    4. Assist with on campus interventions, curriculum, and data collection.
    5. Connect with community partners to assist students/families with challenges that cause poor attendance.
    6. Assist with training and technical assistance to administrators, counselors, teachers, front office staff, nurses, and all other school staff in the areas related but not limited to: rights of foster/homeless youth, substance or physical abuse, ethical/race issues and collaboration with child welfare agencies.
    7. Coordinate with Emotional Intelligence Lead to conduct home visits if appropriate and approved.
