Director of Altar Call

The Director of Altar Call leads, organizes, and equips the ministry team responsible for supporting individuals who respond to altar invitations during worship services and events. This role ensures that every person seeking salvation, prayer, rededication, or church membership receives compassionate care, accurate information, and timely follow-up.

Anticipated Time Commitments:

1. Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: 3-6 hours weekly

2. Participating in meetings/training: 1-2 hours; as required

Responsibilities/Duties:

1. Lead and oversee all altar call operations during services and events.
2. Ensure everyone receives prayer, support during altar call.
3. If an individual does not complete a card, ensure a team member completes it for them.
4. Enter all completed cards into the church system promptly and accurately.
5. Send daily encouragement and next-step information to newly saved individuals.
6. Train and equip altar call volunteers for effective ministry.
7. Ensure confidentiality and compassion in all altar interactions.
8. Coordinate altar call volunteer scheduling and assignments.
9. Review weekly altar call reports and track trends.
10. Collaborate with Worship, Pastoral, and Assimilation teams.
11. Maintain altar materials (cards, pens, new believer guides).
