    Job description

    The Maintenance Technician I supports the maintenance, installation, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment. This role is ideal for someone looking to further develop their technical skills while working in a fast-paced industrial environment under experienced supervision.

    Responsibilities

    • Read and interpret blueprints, technical documents, electrical schematics, and ladder logic diagrams
    • Perform and support mechanical repairs to improve plant processes and equipment reliability
    • Troubleshoot, repair, and adjust production and safety equipment
    • Complete preventive maintenance tasks in accordance with established procedures
    • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards, including LOTO/TO (LOTOTO), confined space, and company policies
    • Maintain and repair plant equipment, ensuring work orders are completed on schedule
    • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to minimize production disruptions
    • Assist with planning and installation of new equipment and capital projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets
    • Accurately document completed work, system updates, and process improvements
    • Perform welding and other hot work as needed
    • Maintain inventory of critical spare parts
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in an industrial setting (may be waived based on experience)
    • Strong commitment to safety and quality standards
    • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
    • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and at heights (stairs, ladders, elevated platforms)
    • Ability to use hand tools and operate site equipment

    Preferred Qualifications

    • MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) knowledge
    • Forklift and warehouse experience
    • Basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance systems
    • Strong teamwork and communication skills
    • Basic math skills (fractions, geometry)
