Education and Experience Required:
Two (2) years of respiratory therapy experience.
Certifications, Licenses, or Registration required:
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care. Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care. Respiratory Care Practitioner from the Mississippi Department of Health.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Possesses knowledge of therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory procedures, cardiopulmonary assessments, and patient evaluation. Demonstrates understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and physics as applied to respiratory care. Skilled in respiratory health promotion, disease prevention, and quality improvement initiatives. Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, staff, and multidisciplinary teams. Capable of alleviating patient anxiety, maintaining equipment and supplies, and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and infection control standards.

(Occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more)
