    Job description

Dean, College of Pharmacy and Nutrition

Located in the vibrant city of Saskatoon, the University of Saskatchewan (USask) is one of Canada’s top research-intensive medical doctoral universities and home to world-leading research of global importance. More than 26,500 students from more than 125 countries study at USask. Over 130 academic programs are offered through the university’s two campuses, 13 schools and colleges and four graduate schools.

The College of Pharmacy and Nutrition (the College) is a respected centre of excellence that prepares practice-ready pharmacists and dietitians and advances graduate education and research. Faculty scholarship spans drug discovery and development, clinical pharmacy practice, public health nutrition, chronic disease prevention, and Indigenous health, contributing meaningfully to improved patient care and population health. The College plays a vital role in strengthening Saskatchewan’s healthcare workforce through distributed experiential education and deep partnerships across urban, rural, and remote communities. As the University enters a period of institutional renewal and strategic planning under new presidential leadership, the College is well positioned to build on its strong foundation and shape its next chapter of impact and growth.

Reporting to the Provost and Vice-President Academic, the Dean provides strategic and innovative leadership to the College as its chief academic and administrative officer. The Dean works in collaboration with academic leaders, senior administrators and staff, and other key stakeholders to implement and proactively advance the University of Saskatchewan’s Strategic Plan and promote and advance the college within USask and with key partners regionally, nationally, and internationally.

Candidates with a relevant advanced degree and an exemplary academic record as an educator and researcher are invited to apply. Prior performance at the senior academic level is required with preference given to candidates holding the rank of full professor. The successful candidate will have demonstrated administrative and leadership experience with superior relationship-building skills. Demonstrated success in developing and implementing a vision and leading people to achieve exceptional performance and outcomes is essential.

Due to federal immigration requirements, we also ask candidates to indicate whether they are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or are otherwise already authorized to work at this position for the duration of the appointment, with an explanation if this last category is indicated.
