    The Department of Philosophy at the University of South Florida invites applications for a 9 month, full-time and tenure-earning, Assistant Professor position, with a start date of August 07, 2027. Salary is negotiable.

    Responsibilities

    AOS: Cognitive Science and Philosophy of Mind. AOC: Open.

    We expect the new assistant professor to demonstrate strong research potential and to contribute to the development of our new undergraduate degree program in Cognitive Science. In addition, we expect the individual to be a versatile teacher with a clear commitment to teaching courses that promote student success and contribute to improved four-year graduation rates.

    The department of Philosophy has particular strengths in the history of philosophy and philosophy of science, and several recent hires have added to the vibrant intellectual community in the department.

    Qualifications

    The minimum requirement for this position is a PhD in Philosophy, Cognitive Science, or a cognate field from an accredited institution in hand by time of appointment.
