This position is responsible for welding as needed in the construction, installation, modification, and repair of the University of Tennessee Knoxville’s plumbing, sewer, storm sewer, gas, steam infrastructure facilities, hand rails, platforms, and other welding as required and to ensure the continued safe and reliable distribution and discharge of utility pipe lines to the Campus. The Welder II performs and coordinates welding activities using heliarc, shielded metal arc, and oxy-acetylene welding equipment, welding on various materials including high pressure steam line work and general campus repairs. This position will also assist other shops and departments in the performance and completion of various projects as needed to ensure the highest possible level of customer satisfaction.
