    Job description

Applications are open for rising UTulsa sophomores, juniors and seniors who wish to be considered for a dog handler job during the 2026-27 academic year. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Members of the Hurricanine Crew cannot work more than 20 hours a week (combined with all university employment). Requirements include ability to work at admission, alumni, advancement and athletic events, which include some evenings and weekends.

As part of UTulsa's Canine Ambassador program, students who are selected will represent the university in an official capacity. Students who have previous experience working with dogs and/or in customer-service environments are preferred. In-person interviews are required.

Each member of the Hurricanine Crew will go through training in Tulsa with the same trainer that works with Goldie. This will be a fun job, but successful applicants must understand that their priority is to keep Goldie and anyone around her safe at all times.

Students selected for this position will be paid and will receive custom apparel and accessories (name tag, etc.) to wear during activities with Goldie. The Hurricanine Crew is an elite group whose members will have access to special events and may be featured on UTulsa's social media accounts and in other promotions featuring Goldie.
