    Job description

    The Department of Economics is  looking for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team as a Work study. In this role, offering administrative support to the faculty members in Chapman Hall. Your responsibilities will include a range of tasks that contribute to the efficient functioning of the department.

    Responsibilities

    • Assisting faculty with copy and scanning jobs, ensuring a smooth flow of documents.
    • Performing data entry tasks to maintain accurate records.
    • Maintaining a clean and organized lobby, copy room, and mail room.
    • Handling mail pickup and drop-off, ensuring timely delivery.
    • Monitoring printer supplies and assisting with paper jams.
    • Assisting with basic office maintenance and organization.
    • Assist faculty with light research or other projects as requested

    • Collaborating with faculty to understand their needs and preferences.
    • Work with Department Assistant to complete other miscellaneous projects as requested

    • Providing general clerical support, such as answering phones and greeting visitors.
    • Ensuring a positive and professional work environment.

    Required Skills

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Attention to detail and organizational abilities.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc) and Adobe Acrobat
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
    • A positive and proactive attitude towards work.
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and processes.
    • Comfort assisting with basic technological issues (troubleshooting printers, wifi, etc.)

    • Ability to lift 25-30 lbs.

    • Ability to handle confidential information and files with discretion

    • Experience providing customer service preferred but not required

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
    • Energetic and enthusiastic approach to work.

    Time: 10-15 Hours a week
