    Job description

    The University of Tulsa’s Media Studies department seeks a reliable work‑study student to assist faculty with daily administrative tasks. This role involves operating copy and scanning equipment, typing and entering data, managing mail and office supplies, and keeping shared spaces organized and functional. The position offers valuable experience in a university setting while supporting the department’s smooth operation.

    Responsibilities

    • Copy, scan, and collate faculty documents as requested
    • Type and format documents for faculty use
    • Perform data entry and maintain electronic records
    • Keep the lobby, copy room, and mail room clean and organized
    • Pick up and drop off departmental mail and packages
    • Provide general clerical support such as filing and stapling
    • Monitor printer supplies and restock paper as needed
    • Assist with clearing paper jams and basic printer troubleshooting
    • Set up and break down equipment for faculty presentations
    • Report any equipment issues or supply shortages to the department coordinator

    Qualifications

    • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at the University of Tulsa
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficiency with standard office software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace)
    • Basic knowledge of copy and scanner operation
    • Ability to lift and move boxes up to 25 lbs
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
    • Dependable attendance and punctuality
    • Ability to work independently and follow instructions
    • Positive attitude and willingness to assist faculty and staff
    • Eligibility for work‑study employment through the university
