JOB TITLE:
Technician, Master
JOB PURPOSE:
We are seeking a master technician to manage the Red Buttes Environmental Laboratory located 11 miles south of the University of Wyoming campus in Laramie WY. Under very limited supervision, perform complex expert-level engineering, research, and/or computer systems configuration(s); responsible for the development, interpretation and adaptation of project plans, techniques, designs and layouts; oversee the completion of projects by determining work assignments and by reviewing, analyzing and integrating the technical work of designated support staff.

Education: Associate’s degree in a related field, or completion of related technical or vocational education/training
Experience: 9 years work-related experience in the design, construction, fabrication, repair and maintenance of mechanical or electronic equipment or systems
Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements:
Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP.
Experience Evaluation
Minimum experience requirements are evaluated on a full-time equivalent (FTE) basis. Relevant part-time experience will be prorated based on hours worked. For example, two years working an average of 20 hours per week is equivalent to approximately one year of full-time experience.
Applicants must include the average hours worked per week for all current and previous positions. Failure to provide this information may affect the evaluation of qualifications.

WORK LOCATION:
On-campus: This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work on campus. The majority of work will be performed at the Red Buttes Environmental Laboratory located 11 miles south of campus.
WORK AUTHORIZATION REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the United States. Sponsorship for H-1B work authorization or work visa is not available for this position.
