CRO Manager

We’re looking for a commercially minded CRO Manager to lead CRO and experimentation across a portfolio of UNRVLD clients.

This role could be based from either our Manchester offices, London or Cardiff offices.

Reporting to the Head of Experimentation & CRO, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day success of your accounts, building trusted client relationships, identifying high-value opportunities, shaping evidence-led roadmaps and coordinating the specialists needed to deliver them.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role requiring strong CRO expertise alongside excellent organisation, commercial judgement and a proactive approach. You’ll be comfortable taking ownership, challenging thinking constructively and turning complex evidence and analysis into clear recommendations and actions.

You’ll typically manage three to four client accounts, depending on their size and complexity.

What you’ll do

Client leadership

• Act as the day-to-day CRO lead and trusted optimisation partner for your clients.
• Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and delivery teams.
• Lead client sessions, roadmap discussions and performance readouts.
• Present findings clearly and constructively, including unsuccessful or inconclusive results.
• Proactively manage decisions, dependencies and risks to keep programmes moving.

CRO strategy & experimentation

• Use customer, behavioural and commercial evidence to identify and prioritise opportunities.
• Develop and continually evolve focused CRO and experimentation roadmaps.
• Define clear hypotheses, metrics and decision frameworks for experiments.
• Use your judgement to determine whether an opportunity calls for experimentation, further research, an immediate improvement, personalisation or a wider strategic initiative.
• Balance customer impact, commercial value, effort, risk and confidence when making recommendations.

Delivery & collaboration

• Own progress across your accounts, coordinating designers, developers, analysts and other specialists.
• Create clear briefs and ensure work is reviewed, approved, launched and measured effectively.
• Maintain priorities, actions and dependencies and keep both clients and internal teams accountable.
• Ensure experiments are properly designed, tracked, analysed and translated into clear decisions.

AI & insight

• Use AI to accelerate research, analysis, evidence gathering and reporting.
• Apply your own judgement to validate AI-assisted findings, identify gaps and distinguish evidence from inference.
• Turn analysis into commercially useful recommendations and action.

What we’re looking for

Essential

• Experience leading CRO, experimentation or experience optimisation programmes.
• Strong strategic and commercial judgement, with the ability to turn evidence into prioritised action.
• Excellent organisation and the ability to manage multiple accounts or workstreams effectively.
• Strong client-facing and relationship-building skills, including confidence challenging senior stakeholders.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams across design, development, analytics and QA.
• Hands-on experience with a mainstream experimentation platform, ideally Optimizely Web Experimentation (OWE) or VWO.
• Strong working knowledge of GA4 and confidence identifying potential tracking issues.
• Good statistical understanding and the ability to design, evaluate and explain experiments responsibly.
• Commercial awareness beyond conversion rate, including margin, returns, lead quality, support demand and traffic mix.
• Confidence communicating difficult, unsuccessful or inconclusive findings clearly and constructively.

Useful, but not essential

• Experience across ecommerce and lead-generation or service journeys.
• Experience with personalisation, controlled rollouts, server-side experimentation or feature flagging.
• Accessibility, performance and SEO awareness.
• Experience working with client teams who deliver the changes.
• Experience improving CRO or experimentation processes and programmes.
• Experience using AI to support research, analysis or delivery.
