The Grand Gardner Hotel is an Urschel Development property located in Downtown Valparaiso, IN. Urschel Development is a fully owned subsidiary of Urschel Laboratories located in Chesterton, Indiana
The Grand Gardner Hotel is an independent boutique hotel located on a quiet, tree-lined street just steps away from downtown Valparaiso. Designed to feel welcoming to both guests and employees, it features 58 rooms and suites, a speakeasy, banquet space, and inviting shared spaces. This is a place built on teamwork, hands-on training, and growth. Employees are encouraged to learn, share ideas, and take pride in creating great guest experiences, all while being part of a supportive, close-knit team.
Starting pay is $14.68/hour
Why You’ll Love Working at the Grand Gardner Hotel:
This part-time position is expected to work approximately 15–25 hours per week, with evening, weekend, and holiday availability preferred. The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes, cookware, utensils, glassware, and kitchen equipment used in restaurant and banquet operations. This role supports the culinary team by ensuring clean, organized, and properly stocked work areas while adhering to all health, safety, and sanitation standards. The Dishwasher assists with kitchen cleanliness, waste removal, and the proper storage of cleaned items to help ensure efficient daily operations and exceptional guest experiences.
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a fast-paced team environment. The role requires the ability to stand for 8 hours, perform repetitive tasks, work safely around cleaning chemicals and kitchen equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly. A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization are essential. Previous dishwashing or food service experience is helpful but not required.
