Tool Technician

A Brief Overview
The Entry Level Tool Technician will be trained to diagnose and repair a variety of power tools and equipment. This is an entry level position, and previous experience is not required. As a new hire, you will receive the on-the-job training  and learning opportunities required to be successful in the role.

Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.00/hour

What you will do

• Diagnose and make repairs on pneumatic tools such as power nailers & staplers.
• Disassemble tools and use testing devices to identify problems.
• Follow manufacturer directions and warranty requirements when installing products.
• Use technical manuals to determine required replacement parts and assemble tools based on manufacturer’s guidelines.
• Track time and materials as required for each repair job.
• Prepare paperwork and keep stock of repair parts.
• Operate all equipment in safe and responsible manner.
• Train entry-level technicians on proper techniques and methods.
• Receive threaded mechanical fasteners ensuring correct item, price and quantity shipped.
• Deliver products to customers.
• Manage inventory stock for customers which includes recording inventory needed for replenishment, reporting to buyer items needed for order, deliver stock and restocking product as per customer request.
• Provide quality customer service.
• Attend all training to learn new technology.
• Cross-train in other areas to expand knowledge and expertise.

Education Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience Qualifications

• No previous experience is required. Training will be provided to those with a mechanical aptitude and desire to learn tool repair.

Skills and Abilities

• Good mechanical skills and understanding of schematics and diagrams
• Must be computer literate, organized and accurate
• Occasional heavy lifting up to 70 lbs
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must have knowledge of threaded mechanical fasteners
• Ability to work overtime as needed
