Engineering Technician I

Day-to-day responsibilities of this position:

●Conduct routine chemical and physical processing and testing on molten salt components and products by following written methods and using instruments such as a scanning electron microscope, STA (duel TGA & DSC), TMA, dilatometer, ICP-MS, LFA, rheometer, inert gas fusion analyzer, potentiostat, and complete reporting in a timely manner.
●Keep accurate experimental records and document all technical records in lab book or electronic notebook and in compliance with standard operating procedures, lab quality system, and related standards.
●Prepare and present results with external public and private research teams, and support research efforts
●Demonstrate competency in testing and pass proficiency testing.
●Support the need of lab equipment maintenance, calibration, and related documentation.
●Support receiving of laboratory supplies and maintaining inventory database.
●Qualify and maintain proficiency in Radiological Control program and handle radioactive materials per written procedures
●Apply engineering knowledge to assess current systems and provide engineering solutions to reduce risk and improve reliability, operating performance, and system efficiency
