Job Description
The Functional Senior Business Analyst acts as the liaison between division staff and the vendor; facilitate/chair workgroups to maintain system design documents; ensures deadlines are met; review system design documentation for compliance with procedures, policies, regulations and standards have been applied/maintained; make recommendations to management for improving and/or maintaining effective information analysis support for the organization; assist with user acceptance testing.
Responsibilities Include
- Review system documentation and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with procedures, regulations and standards.
- Coordinate and participate in operational releases.
- Facilitate/Chair work groups, teams, and/or meetings. Creates a positive environment, evaluates group processes, recommends solutions or alternatives, etc.
- Conduct detailed research of intended subject matter according to Division needs.
- Review and/or inspect work for quality, accuracy, and completeness.
- Research and recommend system enhancements to better meet customer needs.
- Perform activities which may include: the utilization of SharePoint and other computer software programs to store data, retrieve stored data, analyze retrieved data, and arrange results in a format that effectively supports Medicaid’s production activities; and helps identify better ways to utilize the system's capabilities.
- Monitor and evaluate operations, programs, processes and/or practices for quality and effectiveness.
- Utilize MS Word, Excel and Google Workspace to create documents and reports.
- Review and perform user acceptance testing.

- This position is currently a hybrid of two (2) days in-office and three (3) remote work days. Please note, a position's eligibility for remote work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion, at any time, and for any reason
- Effective July 1, 2021, State of Utah Employees must either reside in Utah or be in the process of relocating to Utah within 30 days of their start date.
- Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
