    Job description

    At Utilities One, we are driven by innovation, operational excellence, and a commitment to building the future of critical infrastructure. As a trusted turnkey solutions provider across telecom, power, water, renewable energy, and data center sectors, we deliver high-quality services that connect and empower communities. In addition to our core operations, we offer specialized consulting services that help our clients design, optimize, and execute complex infrastructure projects with confidence and precision. We believe our greatest strength is our people — a team of dedicated professionals who bring expertise, collaboration, and integrity to everything they do. Join us and become part of a growing organization where your contributions make a meaningful impact.
    We are seeking an experienced Director of Safety to lead and manage safety programs across our company’s operations, including telecom, power, water utilities, data centers, construction, and field services.
    This role is responsible for building, maintaining, and enforcing a strong safety culture across the organization. The Director of Safety will work closely with field teams, operations leadership, project managers, and corporate management to ensure that safety standards are clearly defined, properly communicated, and consistently followed.
    The ideal candidate will have strong experience in utility, construction, data center, or field operations safety and be comfortable working both in an office environment and directly with crews in the field.
    • Lead the company-wide safety program across telecom, power, water utilities, data centers, and related field operations.
    • Develop, update, and maintain safety policies, procedures, programs, and training materials.
    • Work closely with field teams and operations leaders to identify risks, improve safety practices, and support compliance.
    • Conduct field safety audits, jobsite inspections, incident investigations, and corrective action follow-ups.
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, company safety standards, client requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
    • Support safety requirements for utility, construction, data center, and critical infrastructure environments.
    • Partner with leadership to improve safety performance, reduce incidents, and strengthen accountability across all departments.
    • Review and improve existing safety documentation, including JSAs/JHAs, SOPs, emergency procedures, and incident reporting processes.
    • Lead safety training initiatives for field employees, supervisors, and management.
    • Track safety metrics, prepare reports, and present recommendations to leadership.
    • Support onboarding and ongoing safety education for employees working in field, utility, construction, and data center environments.
    • Serve as the main point of contact for safety-related questions, inspections, audits, and internal safety initiatives.
    • Proven experience in safety management within utilities, telecom, construction, data centers, infrastructure, or field services.
    • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and workplace safety compliance.
    • Experience writing and implementing safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
    • Ability to work directly with field crews and communicate safety expectations clearly and practically.
    • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
    • Comfortable balancing office-based responsibilities with regular field visits.
    • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
    • Safety-related certifications such as CSP, CHST, ASP, or similar are a plus.
    • Valid driver’s license required.
    What We Are Looking For
    We are looking for a hands-on safety leader who can take ownership of safety across the entire company. This person should be able to work closely with field teams, understand real jobsite conditions, and create practical safety processes that support both compliance and daily operations across utilities, telecom, construction, and data center projects.
    • Health Insurance plans (health, dental, vision);
    • Whole Life Insurance;
    • 401k Plan;
    • PTO/Paid Holidays;
    • Great Work Environment;
    • Career Advancement Opportunities.
