Summary: The Event Manager is a key position within Canyons Resort’s marketing department responsible for helping bring the Canyons brand to life for guests of the resort. This individual will be responsile for developing our year-round events strategy with a focus of creating and executing on-brand events and resort animation that drive our core business metrics, including: skier days, lodging nights and food & beverage spend. This strategy will include both internal and external (promoters) events On-Mountain and in the Resort Village.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the annual event marketing plan and budget to achieve strategic goals across the resort
- Oversee the planning, execution, and recap of all resort events, programming, and animation.
- Manage event logistics including permits, site plans, BEOs, AV, Run of Show, set up, and tear down
- Generate new events with consideration to ROI, operational feasibility, & brand alignment
- Manage creation of marketing and promotional materials as they relate to events and programming
- Cultivate relationships and negotiations with third party promoters
- Manage Contract Creation as it relates to events, demos, and vendor services
- Communicate all events to internal departments and how they relate to each department
- Act as cross-departmental liaison as it relates to event planning, needs, set up and execution
- Assist with set up for On-Mountain Competitions as well as Resort Village programming including concerts, festivals, and activities.
- Work closely with multiple departments including: Risk Management, Legal, Hospitality, F&B, Retail, Sales, Mountain Operations, and Terrain Park / Bike Park during event planning and execution
- Establish Policy & Procedures consistent with Corporate Guidelines
- Work closely with corporate sponsorship team to incorporate and support all strategic alliance partnerships
- Manage and develop Event Marketing Specialists / Coordinators and part-time event staff
- Attend outside meetings (Park City Chamber / RVMA / Ski Utah) as they pertain to events and aligning event calendars
- Compiling proof of ROI and SWOTS as they pertain to internal and external events
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 4-5 years event/project management
- Supervision over 2 coordinator or supervisor
- Excel, Word, Internet, Outlook, Powerpoint
- College degree or equivalent experience
