Position Overview

The Hand Solder is responsible for assembling and processing printed circuit boards and other electronic assemblies in compliance with IPC-610 standards. This role requires following Aegis work instructions, bills of material, and customer documentation while adhering to the quality management system to support Variosystems’ quality objectives and growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Hand soldering of through-hole and SMT components.
• Visual inspection using magnifying lamps and microscopes.
• Touching up solder joints.
• Trimming leads.
• Cleaning PCB’s.
• Visual inspection of assemblies.
• Installing hardware such as screws, nuts, and washers.
• Enter defects into Aegis.
• Operators may receive training in specialized equipment or custom assembly fixtures.
• General housekeeping of workstations and assembly lines.
• Report all defective material to area lead or manager.
• Pack and/or unpack material and/or assemblies.
• Maintain material traceability as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Read and interpret drawings and bills of material.
• Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
• IPC 610
• 1 year of hand solder experience.
