ROLE
We are looking for a customer‑obsessed Product Owner Platform UI to shape the future of the user experience across the entire ALLPLAN product portfolio. In this role, you will define the vision for our user interface, lead our UI teams, and translate real‑world customer needs into intuitive, modern workflows that AEC professionals rely on every day. Acting at the intersection of product, UX and engineering, you will drive a consistent design system and ensure that every interaction across the ALLPLAN product portfolio feels clear, efficient and enjoyable for our current and future users.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Product vision and strategy: Define and own the vision and strategic direction of the user interface (UI) across all ALLPLAN products, including establishing target user personas and deeply understanding their workflow needs, pain points, and expectations.
- Requirements Management and Backlog Ownership: Collect, analyze, and prioritize UI requirements from diverse sources including direct customer feedback, internal stakeholder teams, competitive market analysis, and usability testing insights. Translate these requirements into a well-structured product backlog comprising epics and user stories with clear, measurable acceptance criteria that align with both product strategy and technical feasibility.
- UX Consistency and Design System Leadership: Drive and maintain a unified design system that ensures consistent user experience across the entire ALLPLAN product portfolio. Manage the design system backlog including UI components, interaction patterns, visual styles, templates, and comprehensive guidelines that enable scalable, coherent product development.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely and collaboratively with Product Management, the UX team (UX researchers, UX/UI designers), software developers, and quality assurance testers throughout the entire product lifecycle—from initial concept and design validation through implementation and release verification of UI solutions, workflows, interactions, and design system components.
- Team Leadership and Coordination: Lead and coordinate distributed development Teams, establishing clear goals, priorities, communication protocols, and common quality standards. Organize regular synchronization meetings and create an environment that fosters effective collaboration across teams, disciplines, and time zones.
- User-Centered Validation: Validate proposed UI solutions through rigorous user research methodologies including customer interviews, interactive prototype testing, A/B testing, and quantitative analysis of user behavior patterns. Translate research findings into concrete product goals and actionable backlog adjustments that measurably improve user satisfaction.
- Internal Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate actively with Customer Success, Technical Support, Sales, and Marketing teams to systematically collect UI feedback, identify critical pain points, and effectively communicate the value and benefits of UI improvements in product releases to both internal teams and external customers.
- Release Management and Quality Assurance: Prepare comprehensive inputs for product releases, take ownership of release content from a UI perspective, and actively participate in quality verification processes to ensure delivered solutions meet defined standards and user expectations before release.
- Market Intelligence and Innovation: Continuously monitor and analyze emerging trends in CAD/BIM software, UX/UI design practices, and design system evolution. Proactively recommend improvements and innovations to enhance the usability, accessibility, and competitive positioning of ALLPLAN products in the market.
- Agile Product Management: Lead and facilitate key product ownership ceremonies including backlog refinement sessions, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives in close cooperation with Scrum Masters and team leaders, ensuring agile best practices drive iterative, high-value improvements.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain comprehensive documentation of UI decisions, design principles, interaction rules, and best practices using tools such as Confluence and internal knowledge bases. Actively promote this knowledge across ALLPLAN development teams to ensure consistency and informed decision-making.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Degree in UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional experience: Proven track record in product ownership or product management of user interface and user experience initiatives, preferably within technical software solutions or the AEC technology sector
Hands-on experience with design systems, UI component libraries, and their governance in complex software products
- Experience working in agile product development environments with distributed, cross-functional teams
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of UX/UI design principles, interaction design patterns, and usability best practices
- Familiarity with BIM software workflows and the specific needs of AEC professionals (experience with platforms such as ALLPLAN, Revit, ArchiCAD, or similar tools is highly desirable)
- Knowledge of modern UI technologies, frameworks, and design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
- Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design principles
- User Research Skills: Experience conducting or working closely with user research activities including interviews, usability testing, A/B testing, and behavioral analytics
- Ability to translate qualitative and quantitative user insights into actionable product decisions
- Leadership and Collaboration: Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional and geographically distributed teams
- Strong facilitation skills for workshops, design reviews, and agile ceremonies
- Experience coordinating work across multiple time zones and cultural contexts
- Languages: Ability to speak, write, and communicate professionally in English (other languages desirable)
