Business Developer Data Centres

Job Description

Data centres are one of the fastest-growing, highest-stakes construction sectors in the UK and Europe, and how critical cooling systems are designed and integrated has real consequences for uptime, build speed, and long-term reliability. We're looking for a driven Business Developer to further our growth in this space, embedding Victaulic solutions into the design process from the earliest stages and unlocking pipeline visibility across the region.

Reporting to the UK Business Development Manager and working closely alongside the Business Development team, this is a high-visibility role at the intersection of engineering credibility and commercial strategy. You'll build and maintain relationships with data centre owners and engineers, shaping specification decisions in Victaulic's favour, while keeping commercial sales teams across the UK and Europe closely aligned throughout the project lifecycle.

What You'll Do

• Identify major data centre projects early and engage planning offices and design teams to position Victaulic solutions from the outset
• Build relationships with data centre owners and engineers to influence design decisions at the specification stage
• Build and expand Victaulic's footprint within key accounts, working across every level of the decision-making chain
• Maintain close, ongoing communication with commercial sales teams across the UK and Europe to ensure alignment from early engagement through to project delivery
• Keep CRM (Salesforce) records up to date — tracking project stakeholders, timelines, scope, and next steps
• Coordinate with the UK Business Development Manager and wider Business Development team on national and international project activity
• Represent Victaulic in industry associations, building your profile and the company's presence in the data centre community

What You Bring

• A degree in mechanical engineering, or business management, or equivalent technical grounding
• Hands-on technical knowledge and genuine curiosity about evolving product portfolios, market trends, and standards
• Existing relationships with Data Center owners and MEP engineers in the data centre market
• A track record of success in business development, sales, or account management — comfortable managing complex, long-cycle sales and hitting targets
• Sharp project management, communication, and presentation skills — you're confident representing Victaulic in the room
• A collaborative, team-first mindset paired with the independence to plan and execute your own weekly, monthly, and annual activity
• Willingness to travel within the UK and Europe, including occasional evening events
