The Field Service Equipment Technician is responsible for working independently, repairing bailers and other recycling equipment within the Chicagoland area, covering parts of Chicago, Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana, and Michigan. This role involves daily travel to customer sites to diagnose and repair equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and high customer satisfaction. When not on the road, the technician will work in the company shop to perform in-house repairs, maintenance, and refurbishing of used equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service both on-site and in-shop. Additionally, the candidate should be able to interpret schematics, have familiarity with light welding techniques, and possess experience with programmable logic controllers, as well as horizontal and vertical scrap balers, conveyors, and other recycling machinery.
